With a view to implement women empowerment schemes being run by different departments in an integrated manner, Uttar Pradesh government has set up state women empowerment mission.
Women cell of Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Pariwar, is organizing a programme on women empowerment at Gayatri Shaktipeeth, Jagnade Square, Nandanvan, from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday. Dr Mangla Ghisad, gynaecologist, Prof. Kalpana Kapse, Prof. Uma Tripathi, Rakhi Mundhada, clinical psychologist will be the speakers. A question-answer sessions will also be held on the occasion. A free counselling programme for woman will also be held at the same venue at 5pm on last Thursday of every month.
Canara Bank, Department of Women Empowerment, CSR Division, Priority Credit and Financial Inclusion wing here will organize a three- days Workshop on "Entrepreneurial Skills for Successful Business for Women Entrepreneurs" between July 30 and August 1 at Canara Bank Staff Training College, Dwaraknath Bahvan, Netkalappa Circle, K R Road, Basavanagudi.
Goa governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo stressed that "the need for providing adequate opportunity to our womenfolk should be an integral part of our efforts to empower women in our society who have a vital role to play in our development process." 
The University of Mumbai will be conducting a series of workshop on women empowerment to pay homage to the undying spirit of Nirbhaya. The series of one-day workshop will flag off on December 16, marking one year to the day when the 23-year-old medical student was gang raped in Delhi. It will be followed by workshops in affiliated colleges in Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Thane and Mumbai suburbs.
